Throughout each session, you'll be introduced to key dressmaking techniques, from understanding patterns to mastering garment construction. Led by experienced instructors, you'll embark on a progressive journey that culminates in crafting your very own pieces. From selecting fabrics to stitching seams, each step will contribute to your growing repertoire of sewing skills.

"Let's Get Serger Savvy!", is a fun and interactive 2 and a half-hour session designed for individuals who are completely new to using an overlocker(serger) or looking to refresh their skills. Participants will learn about the parts and functions of the overlocker, threading techniques, different stitch types, tension adjustments, and advanced techniques like differential feed adjustment and rolled hemming.

This workshop includes hands-on practice sessions where participants will thread the machine and sew basic stitches on scrap fabric, as well as create a small sample. The friendly and approachable tone of the workshop aims to make participants feel confident and comfortable with their serger, empowering them to tackle future sewing projects with ease and most importantly to get that overlocker out of the box!

Join us for a mindful making workshop in The Rise Sewing School where you will be taken step by step through this beautiful Merchant & Mills pattern.
